Determinantal point processes for image processing

Determinantal point processes (DPPs) are probabilistic models of configurations that favour diversity or repulsion. They have recently gained influence in the machine learning community, mainly because of their ability to elegantly and efficiently…

Une exploration du déflouage d’images et vidéos : les détails qui font la différence

This thesis studies the problem of image and video blur and its removal. In the first part we focus on the restoration of image bursts, in particular for deblurring and super-resolution.First we study Fourier Burst Accumulation, which efficiently…

Développement de méthodes mathématiques pour l'analyse de trajectoires conformationnelles en dynamique moléculaire

Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations can produce nowadays huge amount of data using high-throughput CPU/GPU clusters. However, in addition not to consider the kinetic aspect of the data, the routine use of MD simulations for a study of real…

A Review of an Old Dilemma: Demosaicking First, or Denoising First?

Image denoising and demosaicking are the most important early stages in digital camera pipelines. They constitute a severely ill-posed problem that aims at reconstructing a full color image from a noisy color filter array (CFA) image. In most of the…

Débruitage vidéo et applications

This thesis studies the problem of video denoising. In the first part we focus on patch-based video denoising methods. We study in details VBM3D, a popular video denoising method, to understand the mechanisms that made its success. We also present a…
