Machine-Learning Enhanced Predictors for Accelerated Convergence of Partitioned Fluid-Structure Interaction Simulations

Stable partitioned techniques for simulating unsteady fluid-structure interaction (FSI) are known to be computationally expensive when high added-mass is involved. Multiple coupling strategies have been developed to accelerate these simulations, but…

Shapes analysis for time series

Analyzing inter-individual variability of physiological functions is particularly appealing in medical and biological contexts to describe or quantify health conditions. Such analysis can be done by comparing individuals to a reference one with time…

Stochastic Approximation with Biased MCMC for Expectation Maximization

The expectation maximization (EM) algorithm is a widespread method for empirical Bayesian inference, but its expectation step (E-step) is often intractable. Employing a stochastic approximation scheme with Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) can…

An Ecologically Consistent Model of Growth for Hard-Bodied Marine Organisms

There are several factors to account for marine growth including but not limited to temperature, salinity, chlorophyll-a content, existing species in the environment and predating. This paper proposes a model of biological growth for hard species on…

Pseudo Pansharpening NeRF for Satellite Image Collections

The use of NeRF to model 3D scenes from satellite images is becoming increasingly common. However, the models proposed to date assume the availability of pre-processed RGB images as input. This contrasts with the multispectral nature of raw…

Towards reliable machine learning under domain shift and costly labeling, with applications to engineering design

In engineering design, using machine learning models to find innovative products poses major challenges. The effectiveness of machine learning models has been demonstrated when trained and used on large datasets of independently identically…

METHANE EMISSIONS MONITORING USING GEOSTATIONARY SATELLITES

Satellite imaging has proven to be crucial to monitor methane emissions and help reduce them. In this paper, we propose an automatic practical methodology to use time series from geostationary satellites like GOES-16. While these satellites offer a…

MODEL ADJUSTED MATCHED FILTER FOR METHANE PLUME DETECTION ON PRISMA HYPERSPECTRAL IMAGES

Reducing methane emissions is essential to tackle climate change. Here, we address the problem of detecting automatically point source methane leaks using high resolution hyperspectral images from the PRISMA satellite. We propose an improvement of…

Linear elliptic homogenization for a class of highly oscillating non-periodic potentials

We consider an homogenization problem for the second order elliptic equation $- \Delta u^{\varepsilon} + \dfrac{1}{\varepsilon} V(./\varepsilon) u^{\varepsilon} + \nu u^{\varepsilon} =f$ when the highly oscillatory potential $V$ belongs to a…

“Hemispheric pilocytic astrocytoma” revisited: A comprehensive clinicopathological and molecular series emphasizing their overlap with other glioneuronal tumors

Abstract Pilocytic astrocytomas (PA) typically exhibit distinct clinical, radiological, histopathological, and genetic features. DNA-methylation profiling distinguishes PA according to their location (infratentorial, midline, hemispheric, or spinal)…
