Data enabled Predictive Control of LPV systems

This paper introduces a data-enabled predictive control methodology designed for Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) systems. By leveraging a polytopic representation of the LPV system, we formulate Willem’s lemma to accommodate parameter variations. The…

Contrastive learning: an efficient Domain Adaptation strategy for 2D mammography image classification

Effective computer aided breast-cancer diagnosis models using 2D mammography images must maintain consistent performance across varying image acquisition systems and post-processing techniques. Nevertheless, Deep Learning (DL) models have shown…

On the local geometry of the pet reconstruction problem

Intrinsic uncertainties related to the ill-posedness of the PET image reconstruction inverse problem are investigated in this work. These uncertainties could lead to instabilities in the reconstructed images in particular when Deep Learning…

Symbolic representations of time series

The objectives of this thesis are to define novel symbolic representations and distance measures that are suited for time series that can be multivariate and non-stationary. In addition, they should preserve the time information, be interpretable,…

Weill-Marchesani syndrome: natural history and genotype-phenotype correlations from 18 news cases and review of literature

Background Weill-Marchesani syndrome (WMS) belongs to the group of acromelic dysplasias, defined by short stature, brachydactyly and joint limitations. WMS is characterised by specific ophthalmological abnormalities, although cardiovascular defects…

Vitamin K Epoxide Reductase Complex–Protein Disulphide Isomerase Assemblies in the Thiol–Disulphide Exchange Reactions: Portrayal of Precursor-to-Successor Complexes

The human Vitamin K Epoxide Reductase Complex (hVKORC1), a key enzyme that converts vitamin K into the form necessary for blood clotting, requires for its activation the reducing equivalents supplied by its redox partner through thiol–disulphide…

Geodesic Tracking via New Data-Driven Connections of Cartan Type for Vascular Tree Tracking

Abstract We introduce a data-driven version of the plus Cartan connection on the homogeneous space $${\mathbb {M}}_2$$ M 2 of 2D positions and orientations. We formulate a theorem that describes all shortest and straight curves (parallel velocity…

White matter tracts and executive functions: a review of causal and correlation evidence

Abstract Executive functions are high-level cognitive processes involving abilities such as working memory/updating, set-shifting and inhibition. These complex cognitive functions are enabled by interactions among widely distributed cognitive…
