Statistical background modeling and applications in remote sensing

This thesis addresses some problems in remote sensing and statistical background modeling using the a-contrario theory and artificial neural network models. The work is motivated by two applications in remote sensing where the control of false…

Data Augmentation by Adaptative Targeted Zoom for MRI Brain Tumor Segmentation

This study presents a novel data augmentation methodology to enhance the scientific outcomes achieved during the Brats 2023 challenge. The 3D-UNet neural network, initially proposed by Ronneberger et al. in 2015 for biomedical image segmentation, is…

Transport of probability distributions across different Euclidean spaces

In this thesis, we study three problems related to the transport of measures lying on different Euclidean spaces, the first two being in the context of optimal transport and the last one being in the context of generative modeling. In the optimal…

A new modeling approach of myxococcus xanthus bacteria using polarity-based reversals

The aim of this paper is to model the collective behavior of Myxococcus xanthus bacteria to better understand the emerging patterns at the level of the colony. We use image analysis and data treatment on experimental data of Myxococcus xanthus…

Thomas Alazard - The water-wave equations in Eulerian coordinates 3

These lectures are based on a point of view introduced by Walter Craig, Catherine Sulem and Vladimir Zakharov, which consists in studying the water-wave equations in Eulerian coordinates, using the Dirichlet to Neumann operator. I will present the…

A Symmetry Concept for the Self-Assembly Synthesis of Mn-MIL-100 Using a Capping Agent and Its Adsorption Performance with Methylene Blue

In this study, a facile strategy of regulated self-assembly synthesis of Mn-MIL-100, using sodium acetate (CH3COONa) as a mono-dentate ligand capping agent (CA), was proposed. The as-prepared product is denoted Mn-MIL-100-CA. The coordination…
