JADE OWL: JPEG 2000 forensics by wavelet offset consistency analysis

In a world teeming with digital images, the credibility of visual data has become of paramount importance. While it is now simpler than ever to manipulate an image for malicious purposes such as misinformation, the tools for detecting such…

Thyroid-stimulating hormone receptor signaling restores skeletal muscle stem cell regeneration in rats with muscular dystrophy

Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a severe and progressive myopathy leading to motor and cardiorespiratory impairment. We analyzed samples from patients with DMD and a preclinical rat model of severe DMD and determined that compromised repair…

Joint demosaicking and denoising benefits from a two-stage training strategy

Image demosaicking and denoising are the first two key steps of the color image production pipeline. The classical processing sequence has for a long time consisted of applying denoising first, and then demosaicking. Applying the operations in this…

ARE CLASSIC FORENSIC TOOLS EFFECTIVE ON SATELLITE IMAGERY?

Satellite images are becoming an increasingly important part of our world. Such images are used to forecast the weather, track green house gas emissions, monitor agricultural crop health, and many other applications. Such advances are possible…

Clustering for directed graphs using parametrized random walk diffusion kernels

Clustering based on the random walk operator has been proven effective for undirected graphs, but its generalization to directed graphs (digraphs) is much more challenging. Although the random walk operator is well-defined for digraphs, in most…

Implementing Handheld Burst Super-resolution

Nowadays, smartphone cameras capture bursts of raw photographs whenever the trigger is pressed. These photos are then fused to produce a single picture with higher quality. This paper details the implementation of the method "Handheld Multi-Frame…

Comparison of vestibular input statistics during natural activities and while piloting an aircraft

The present study investigates the statistics and spectral content of natural vestibular stimuli experienced by healthy human subjects during three unconstrained activities. More specifically, we assessed how the characteristics of vestibular inputs…

On The Role of Alias and Band-Shift for Sentinel-2 Super-Resolution

In this work, we study the problem of single-image superresolution (SISR) of Sentinel-2 imagery. We show that thanks to its unique sensor specification, namely the inter-band shift and alias, that deep-learning methods are able to recover fine…
